Dustball

You are my hero... seriously.

That was great, I'm actually working on some rotoscoped stuff myself right now and I was feeling a bit like I was cheating but this animation has reafirmed my belief that rotoscoped animation is still animation and takes the same amount if not not more effort to make it work.

Both Play and Flathead orchestra are in my favourites but unfortunately this one isn't going in there. Don't get me wrong, I love it- but it's not original enough. I'm really pleased you did a second Play animation because I'm a big fan of the first but I think you should leave it at that. Your work is brilliant and I don't want to see one of my favourite artists stuck doing the same thing again and again.

Good work as always man but move on to new projects. I'm not just blowing smoke when I say I'm looking forward to seeing them.

Dustball responds:

Cool, thanks for the comments. Take another look at my list of submissions, how often do you see the same type of thing twice? I definately did take a break from this, but after doing a few different projects I figured what the heck, why not do another one only way better? Don't worry, I've got a lot of exciting (and diverse) things up my sleeves!

fantastic

I think Mr link_clone just has Zelda on the brain. This flash doesn't bear to great a resemblence to OoT at all. The ideas you had were refreshingly original considering the story line is the same kind of formula seen before. It goes without saying that the fight scene was impressive but it was the little details that I really liked. Namely when the knight's wings colapsed into a cloak- that was just fantastic.

I really liked the crow as well, I look forward to part 5.

Good job guys

I almost missed this, I only watched it when I was doing my monthly voting. I'm glad I got round to watching it.

I was going to say it reminded me of creature comforts and the office but then the credits kind of stole my thunder. You did a good job with the style of humour though because I could see the inspirations coming out in your work in an original way.

I didn't like the character design of Santa Claus to start with but I changed my mind half way through. The best characters tho, by far, were the reindeers. I loved that line where one of them is talking about Dasher being gay and he goes "It's not that I hate the gays its...." and he's cut off by the documentary makers. That's fucking golden.

This should've been on the front page.

Chickens?

They're called cuckos.....

Or something like that.

RogerregoRRoger responds:

who cares, it's not a documentry.

Sorry but you did...

The style of bunny kill was similar to Madness and it got alot of slack originally because of it. Your characters, however, are so similas to bunnykill they look like they've been traced.

The bodies of your characters are identical to bunnykill, you can use the style of floating hands etc obviously..... but try and make it your own somehow.

roffle

That was freaking brilliant. It has to be the quickest anything has ever gotten front page and it definatley deserves it.

It's going straight into my favourites.

well done, fan-bloody-tastic

nice...

Nothing like senseless zombie killing... i really like the frame by frame work you did with the explosion clouds, looked the business.

Alot of people didn't like the music but as someone who has been criticised for using the "wrong music" before i appreciate that it did fit quite well and it shows more of your personality than had you put something that's to be expected in a zombie flash... like disturbed.

One of the lines in the song made me laugh too.... "fuck the nazi illuminati in Mel Gibson's palm".... that's classic.

All in all, well done on a well made flash.

you guys never cease to amaze me

This review is for all 5 segments.... which are all equally good.

I really liked that you used characters from your own animations as clay ppl... I always liked your style. I've seen a few reviews of ppl compariong you to knox, which is fair enough as he's probably most well known for claymations..... but it my own humble opinion i think the two of you blow him out of the water.

There are some animators on Newgrounds that inspire me more than any others and Dustball and gel are two of them... just check my favourite authors! The originality you two have when you work together amazes me today just as it did when i first saw one of your movies for the first time... i think it was spin...

I've gotten away from myself a bit with such shameless flatery... you'll have to forgive me. I really did love the Over There series... some parts of it were funny and some parts of it were just impressive due to the obvious amount of work that you put in. It's not perfect, don't get me wrong in thinking that i'm just in love with your work so much that i would vote five on anything you pumped out, but any flaws i saw were too small to change my opinion of the series too much.

I have to say that the part of this movie that i really loved was the plane that nida built... the transformation really made me laugh i was impressed so much and i loved the little LED you had flashing ontop.

As ever your voice acting is strange and original and i like it for that. This was good work from both of you as always and as always i look forward to seeing what the two of you come up with next.

Thanks for making me smile :)

Dustball responds:

Thank you! And thank you for the nice review. We agree as much as anybody that this movie is anything but perfect... it's amazing to me that it even works as well as it does, having been animated 5 years ago, and then with my recent attempt to bring it to new life.
I think you're the first person to mention the LED, heh heh. The shot of them sitting in the ship was done by just pointing a laser pointer at it (you can see that the light itself is not even attached to anything!) But for the flying I actually managed to wire up to a battery and get it to light up long enough for that one shot.

now i know he's dead

ow........ bub
That was my favourite bit and i love the character designs, but i don't think i really know enough about x-men to fully appreciate all the jokes.
